There is just something about coffee that makes us say "ahhhh"

The  smell of the morning coffee brewing is one of the most fabulous smells there is! Even better is having a fresh cup in hand in our yard swing, watching as the sun rises higher and higher in the crisp morning sky. It doesn't hurt to have a loving ,warm kitty next to you or curled up in your lap. It's even better if it's Monday morning and you are sooo off from work.

There is just something about coffee that makes us say "ahhhh".  It's like a warm hug in a mug.
Selecting the right drinking vessel is very important in the whole coffee experience. I have a selection of short cups, fat cups, tall cups, skinny cups;  There are glass cups, plastic cups, styrofoam cups, paper cups and metal cups.
Then there is the selection of design on the cup.  Mine include flowers, hearts, stars, angels,Santa Clause, snowmen, birds and of course cats. Always make the appropriate choice for the day to come.

We find when  visiting a coffee shop or restaurant that we may become quite confused at all the choices we have to make now days. Walk in and order just a plain cup of coffee and notice the look on the servers face.
The many different kinds of coffee makes the best part of waking up even more confusing, yet amazing. You can choose Espresso, Caffe` Latte,Caffe` Mocha, Cappuccino,Frappuccino, Cafe`au lait...there is Indian, Greek,Columbian, Irish...you can grind it, brew it,perk it,drip it or if your the lazy coffee drinker, buy instant and just add water.  Some like it with a bit of cream, a slosh of milk, a dollop of whip cream , a spoon full of sugar, a packet of sweetener or just straight from the pot...black.

Coffee...it wakes you up, keeps you up, calms us down. We drink it alone, with a friend, when we are sad, when we are happy...the list goes on and on.  Coffee is a major pivotal point in most of our lives.  As small as that cup of Java may look from a mile in the sky, it serves us well and for many purposes.

Think of the many times a styrofoam cup of coffee from the hospital waiting room has served as a comforting friend in a time of worry and concern, and as an uplifting pat on the back, to an eagerly waiting family, when a new baby is on the way.

Is it just a cup of coffee?  You decide.  Maybe the next time you poor a cup  into your favorite mug, add your favorite embellishments(or not) and share it with your special someone, you'll think about it differently. Cheers, bottoms up...good to the last drop!

One morning, a grandmother was surprised to find that her 7-year-old grandson had made her coffee! Smiling, she choked down the worst cup of her life. When she finished, she found three little green Army men at the bottom. Puzzled, she asked, "Honey, what are these Army men doing in my coffee?" Her grandson answered, "Like it says on TV, Grandma.
'The best part of waking up is soldiers in your cup.'

Spouse #1: Honey, this coffee tastes like dirt.
Spouse #2: That's not surprising, dear, it was just ground this morning.

A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning. The wife says, "You should do it, because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee." The husband says, "You are in charge of cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee." Wife replies, "No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee." Husband replies, "I can't believe that, show me." So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says: "Hebrews" (He Brews).

Everybody should believe in something. I believe I'll have another cup of coffee.
